Our Management Team - Legacy Building Solutions - Redefining the Tension Fabric Structure Industry
Legacy Building Solutions

Our Management Team

Ben Fox, Owner/President

As Owner/President of Legacy Building Solutions, Ben brings more than 17 years of construction management experience. In 1994, Ben started Midwest Building and Fencing Inc., a company specializing in the construction of steel truss arch buildings with a fabric roof system. In 2007, the company was purchased by Cover-All Building Systems, where Ben continued work as the General Manager for NorthStar Cover-All, LLC. Unfortunately, in 2010, Cover-All Building Systems declared bankruptcy. It was at this time that Ben created Legacy Building Solutions, Inc.

Ben and his team developed the concept of applying fabric to a rigid frame structure, making Legacy the first fabric structure company in the world to design and manufacture fabric covered rigid frame buildings.  He has worked extensively in every aspect of the fabric building industry, from installations to sales, financing, manufacturing, engineering, research and development as both an Owner/President and as a General Manager.

To date, Ben and his companies have installed over 2500 fabric structures and 25 million square feet, worldwide.

Tom Ruprecht, Director of Aviation and Military Sales

Tom has been designing, manufacturing and installing tension fabric structures since 1979.  He was a charter member of the Architectural Fabric Structures Institute (AFSI 1982) and was a member of the AFSI International Symposium Organizing Committee in 1984.  He obtained his BS in Architecture (minor in structural engineering) at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, in Versailles, France.  Over the past 30 years Tom has sold in excess of $300 million of tension fabric structures to the U.S. government and U.S. military.  Tom has enjoyed the good fortune of installing tension fabric structures over five continents and more than 20 countries.

Tom has a U.S. co-patent #5,269,106 for a deployable modular building and is a Certified Class A General Contractor in the State of Florida, where he resides with his wife and family.

Sterling Mumaw, Director of Commercial and Industrial Sales

Sterling brings more than 30 years of engineering, sales and service expertise to Legacy.  He has a BS in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University with a Sales Management major, supplemented with graduate work in Engineering.  After working for several international firms in construction products, Sterling became an independent ag structure dealer before helping to found the design/build division of a major manufacturer in the tension fabric structures industry.

His pioneering efforts include structures mounted on barges, first response buildings for "9/11" in New York City, concert venues in Pittsburgh and Cleveland and various industrial and mining application fabric structures on four different continents.  Sterling has worked closely with Legacy's construction division for over 12 years.  Together, they have teamed up for the sales and installation of several million square feet of fabric structures, including his largest project, a 191,600 square foot track stadium and practice facility for Texas A&M.

Dwayne Moench, Director of Engineering

Dwayne has over 25 years of experience working in general contracting, metal building, pole-building and consulting engineering industries.  His years of experience and knowledge as a structural engineer is one of the reasons our fabric buildings are better designed, more structurally sound and easily constructed than other fabric buildings.  Dwayne is registered as a Professional Engineer in 17 states and holds registration as a Structural Engineer.  His experience is not confined to rigid frame fabric buildings, Dwayne also has extensive experience in concrete, masonry and wood structures.

Dwayne is responsible for building design, drafting of buildings and foundations and the general development of innovative advancements.

Paul Smith, Sales Manager

Paul has spent his entire professional career in the fabric building industry and has worked in all facets of the business, from construction to sales management and design. Mainly focused in the Iowa and Illinois area, Paul was responsible for overseeing a sales force of seven salesman and the day-to-day operations of 25 employees with Midwest Cover-All. In the time from 2000 up to Cover-All’s close in 2010, Paul had quadrupled sales in a two state area, personally overseeing the sales and construction of over 1,000 fabric buildings.

From large government facilities, down to smaller private applications, Paul has worked with all customers and developed a great wealth of knowledge within the fabric building industry. Paul’s focus remains in sales and marketing and developing customer relationships needed to build the future.

Troy Jurek, Sales Manager

Troy left a 10-year career in retail management to join NorthStar Cover-All as the company’s first salesman when it launched its sales division. He found much success introducing the fabric building technology to a geographical population largely unfamiliar with all the benefits these buildings offer. Troy enjoys creating and keeping relationships from the first conversation through the completion of the project, including maintaining contact with clients whose projects take years to fully develop.

With Legacy, Troy enjoys being involved in all aspects of the business especially the sales process. Whether that involves teaming with Legacy’s dealers, general contractors, or the end user, but also relishes the opportunity to be involved in the manufacturing process, project management, and marketing functions of the business. Troy is thrilled about the opportunity to offer a product that is unique in the marketplace that he knows is backed by a team dedicated to product development and lifetime service.
