The roof of a fabric structure is designed to withstand applicable snow and roof loads. And with custom engineering, there is so much more you can do with the roof.
All fabric roofs have some level of translucence. Most fabric buildings have a white roof to let in maximum sunlight. Uninsulated buildings typically have enough natural light to perform tasks inside on a sunny day. Insulated buildings may have a skylight to increase the natural light – and unlike most skylights, a fabric skylight built into the roof of the structure will never leak or let moisture into the building. Skylights can be added to any fabric roof, regardless of color or insulation.
Insulation and liners are another option for fabric roofs. Roof insulation systems may be the same as the walls or a different weight.
Both PE and PVC fabric can be used on the building roof, in a matching or contrasting color with the endwalls and side walls. Graphics can also be applied to the roof panels to show your support for your logo or mascot.
Strength is perhaps the most important feature of a roof. All roof panels are kedered, individual panels – fed into aluminum keder tracks on every frame – that offer the best attachment and longest fabric life. The typical bay spacing is 20 feet, in contrast to mono-covers or large fabric panels that only attach to the end frames. In locations where roof fabric would come in contact with a support steel beam (usually only at the peak), an added protective layer of fabric is welded onto the panels.
Legacy roofs are built to last through any conditions. To ensure proper fit and a weathertight roof, each roof panel is horizontally tensioned by pre-tension and vertically tensioned by our Inclusive Tensioning System.
