Find Your Design.
Traditional structures often force architects to choose between aesthetic requirements and material performance. Legacy’s hybrid approach enables architectural flexibility without sacrificing building performance.
Design Constraints Shouldn't Force Compromises.
Architects face aesthetic requirements across industries—corporate facilities maintaining brand identity, municipal buildings reflecting community character, industrial operations meeting site development standards, sports complexes integrating with campus architecture.
Legacy’s structural approach expands design possibilities, giving architects more freedom in façade, material, and overall building expression.
Choose Your Configuration
Enclosed & Uninsulated
Full weather enclosure without insulation or interior liner. ExxoTec™ cladding transmits natural daylight, creating a bright ambient interior without artificial lighting during the day. White ExxoTec™ cladding fills the interior with diffuse natural light. The entire roof functions as a distributed skylight—bright, shadow-free, and visually open. Exterior wall materials, accent colors, and branding elements are fully customizable.
Enclosed, Insulated & Lined
Full weather enclosure with insulation and a white ExxoTec™ Pro interior liner covering all structural steel. Opaque envelope; interior brightness comes from artificial lighting reflected off the liner. The interior liner creates a smooth, clean, all-white environment with no exposed steel, no shadow-casting members, and no dust ledges. Lighting reflects evenly across the liner surface. The result consistently surprises first-time visitors. Exterior wall materials, accent colors, and branding are fully customizable.
Design & Aesthetics Through Architectural Flexibility
Legacy’s structural approach supports a broader range of material selections, custom detailing, and seamless integration with surrounding architecture.
For All Configurations
-
Mixed Material Integration
The rigid steel I-beam framework supports diverse wall materials without compromising structural integrity. Brick veneer, CMU, stone, metal panels, architectural precast, or masonry can be incorporated at any height. The roof utilizes ExxoTec™ cladding for its performance advantages while walls employ materials that satisfy local aesthetic requirements, design review standards, or campus guidelines.
-
Custom Color Options
ExxoTec™ PVC cladding is available in white, tan, green, blue, gray, and custom colors for large projects. Standard white maximizes light translucence in uninsulated buildings and light reflectivity in insulated interiors. Custom colors coordinate with institutional branding, campus palettes, or corporate identity requirements.
Interior liners—specified with insulated buildings—offer the same color range. As an example, Legacy provided maroon liner panels for the Texas A&M track facility which coordinate directly with school colors. Accent colors and custom finishes are available for both configuration types.
-
Architectural Detailing
Eave extensions, decorative overhangs, and custom trim elements address specific design requirements. Soffit overhangs conceal roof-to-wall transitions while providing passive ventilation. Wider eaves create visual weight and shadow lines consistent with traditional building aesthetics. Door styles—from standard personnel entries to architectural systems—support design intent while maintaining operational functionality.
These details transform utilitarian structures into campus-appropriate facilities that reflect institutional character. Available for both configuration types.
-
Vinyl Logos, Graphics, and Branding
Custom vinyl decals integrate directly into panels or building facades. Interior spaces support branded elements, corporate graphics, and facility signage through standard mounting methods. Attachment points are coordinated during the design phase, ensuring graphics and signage mount securely without compromising structural or envelope integrity.
This branding capability applies to both configuration types and supports institutional, corporate, municipal, and industrial applications.
For Uninsulated
-
Natural Daylighting Environment
With our uninsulated solution, PVC cladding's light translucence (12% for white ExxoTec™) creates ambient interior lighting conditions impossible with opaque materials. This natural daylighting reduces artificial lighting requirements during daytime operations while creating visually appealing interior environments. The bright interior appearance—often compared favorably to traditional skylight systems—creates positive user experiences while delivering measurable operational savings. The entire roof essentially functions as a sky-light, providing a bright and inviting interior atmosphere.
For Insulated & Lined
-
Interior Liner Aesthetics
With our insulated and lined solution, the ExxoTec™ Pro interior liner covers all structural steel, creating a smooth, clean, all-white interior with no exposed members casting shadows and no dust ledges that are difficult to clean. Lighting reflects evenly off the liner surface, producing a bright environment that is consistently striking to first-time visitors—and that maintains its appearance over time. The rugged liner material resists impact and abrasion that would damage drywall or metal liner panels. The result is an interior that looks as good years after installation as it did on opening day. Color options allow coordination with institutional branding or facility identity requirements.

FAQs
-
Can Legacy buildings incorporate traditional building materials on the walls?
Yes. Legacy's structural system separates roof from wall construction, allowing brick, stone, metal panels, architectural precast, wood, or masonry on walls while utilizing PVC cladding for the roof. Texas A&M's indoor track facility incorporated real brick veneer to 20 feet height, demonstrating seamless material integration. This approach satisfies diverse aesthetic standards and design review requirements while preserving performance advantages—natural daylighting, thermal efficiency, and rapid installation. Wall material selection addresses visual requirements across industries without compromising structural capability.
-
What color options are available for cladding and interior liners?
ExxoTec™ cladding is available in white (for maximum light translucence), tan, blue, green, gray, and custom colors for large projects. Interior liners—specified with insulated buildings—offer similar color ranges. White interior cladding maximizes light reflection and brightness. Colored liners coordinate with corporate branding, institutional colors, or facility-specific requirements. This customization extends beyond standard building aesthetics, supporting visual integration with surrounding facilities across all industries.
-
How does Legacy address aesthetic standards and design review requirements?
Legacy's process begins with understanding design standards, architectural guidelines, and visual integration requirements specific to your project. The separated roof/wall system provides material flexibility unavailable in single-membrane designs. Architectural detailing—eave extensions, decorative overhangs, custom trim—addresses specific requirements. Door styles, signage integration, and finish coordination support design intent. The engineering team works directly with architects to ensure structures complement existing facilities while delivering required performance, regardless of industry or application.
-
What makes Legacy's natural daylighting different from skylights or windows?
PVC cladding's 12% light translucence creates uniform ambient lighting throughout interior spaces, eliminating shadows and dark zones typical with point-source skylights. This distributed daylighting reduces artificial lighting requirements during daytime operations while creating visually appealing interior environments. Applications range from sports facilities requiring consistent illumination for photography, to manufacturing operations benefiting from improved visibility, to warehouse environments reducing energy costs. The bright interior appearance delivers operational savings while creating positive user experiences across diverse facility types.
-
Can buildings accommodate corporate branding, logos, and signage?
Yes. Custom vinyl decals integrate directly into panels or building facades. Interior spaces support branded elements, corporate graphics, and facility signage through various mounting methods. The engineering team coordinates attachment points during design, ensuring graphics and signage mount securely without compromising integrity. This branding capability transforms utilitarian structures into facilities reflecting organizational identity and character across corporate, institutional, municipal, and industrial applications.
